logging in as any user after install - Posted: July 15, 2008 - 5:35 AM Quote and reply
Installing sitellite 5 beta went fine but after the installation process I can see the demo site and navigate fine however when I go to log in with the admin username and password I can not. I've tried manually adding others users into the users table under MySQL but still can't log in.

I've checked the time which is the same on the server and on the client, even the timezone is identical. I have cookies enables, and it appears to be happening on all web browsers.

Strange I'm not getting an error message when I try to log in. Is there a log of what happens and if so where in the database is it please?

Not sure if it's related but can't see any cookies being set so maybe something is wrong with cookies on the server side somewhere?

Any help would be appreciated, I have tried manually changing passwords, looking in the conf file which seems to have all the correct database connection details but still no luck.

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

I believe this was resolved and turned out to be that PHP configuration issue right? Just making sure :)

Yes all sorted out now, seems to be working well, I'm hosting the database backend on a seperate server with a gigabit ethernet link between the two and it seems to be a bit better in terms of performance than running on one host and means I can always scale the system out if I need to add more power on the backend.
